This notice explains how Atlas Chess processes personal data when you use the preview service.

Purposes and legal bases

We process data to provide and secure the account and chess service, respond to requests, maintain the service, and meet legal obligations. Legal bases are performance of a contract or steps at your request, our legitimate interests in secure and reliable operation, consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.

Data categories

We may process account and contact details, authentication and security records, technical and session data, support communications, and private chess content you choose to store. Private chess content is not used for model training.

Recipients and service providers

Retention

We keep data only for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve security or support issues, comply with legal obligations, and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. An account marked for deletion remains recoverable for 14 days; eligible personal primary data is then due for deletion or irreversible anonymization within 30 days, subject to legal retention duties.

Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent. Contact the operator using the details above to exercise these rights.

Complaint

You may lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority competent for your habitual residence, workplace, or the place of an alleged infringement.

Whether data is required

Account and authentication data are required to create and secure an account. Without them, we cannot provide registered features. Providing optional chess content is your choice, but related features cannot work without it.

International transfers

Where data is transferred outside the country or region in which it was collected, the operator will use safeguards required by applicable law, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards.

Cookies and telemetry

Atlas Chess uses necessary session cookies and local UI preferences to operate the service. This MVP has no marketing telemetry and no analytics telemetry.
